Yeah, I'm the Chic

Hey Dolls,

I'm coming to you with another wig look. This one is the Model Model Chic Synthetic Lace Front Wig. I picked this wig up at the same time I bought Carmen (see previous post for Carmen). I wanted to give my real hair a rest, and was looking for a natural looking wig. I saw this one on the manequin in the BSS and tried it on, intending to get it in a number 2, if I liked it. Well I tried in on and immediately loved the style. The saleswoman at the BSS convinced me that I loved the color too. It is a color F207. Everyone at the counter encouraged me to get it. I was thinking about lightening my hair for the spring and summer, so I said "What the heck, I'll give it a try." I'm glad I did. I have gotten sooo many compliments on this wig and I have fallen in love with it. I'm actually about to buy two more!

Chic is a nice layered body wrap style wig that falls just below the shoulder on me. I like to wear it with the shorter layers in the front kind of feathered back. The only complaints I have are that it was unaturally shiny at first and the lace is kind of stiff. The lace actually ripped on me. I put some baby powder on the hair to dull it down (You Tube advice!) and the torn lace was on the side so it didn't make a big difference. Overall, I really love this wig. I don't think it's that popular because I haven't really seen to many videos or posts on it, but I did find a couple by searching for Model Model Chic on You Tube.

Here are some pics of the wig when I first bought it. I'll have many future posts with this wig on so you can see how it looks as time progresses.

On the Bandwagon

Ok Dolls,

I'm sure a lot of you all have heard about the Carmen wig from Model Model. There are numerous You Tube videos of ladies with this wig. The one that Ateyaaa did had me hooked! I new I had to have Carmen in my life! Then I saw beauty2023's video which won the 10 Look Contest that Ateyaaa sponsored. I bought the wig at my local BSS (Beauty Supply Store) and it was on sale for $17.99...You can't beat that with a bat! Lol!

I really like the wig. It is really soft for synthetic hair with a nice curl pattern. The cap was comfortable to wear and had combs to keep it in place. The cap also has a skin part. It was a little dark to be my scalp, but you really cannot notice it. I got it in color #2. Here are some pics of me and Carmen:

All-in-all, Carmen is a beautiful wig. I've seen many different women wear it, and it looked great on everyone. If you are a wig wearer, or if you want to start, Carmen is a great choice!

Green Eyed Monster

Hey Dolls,

I'm bringing you my first makeup post...yay!!! It's featuring Maybelline Stylish Smokes Eyeshadow Quad in Emerald Smokes. The quad is really great for beginners because each part of the quad is engraved with the area of the eyelid it should go on (lid, crease, brow bone, outer corner). You have to pick up on it pretty quick though because the engravings wear off as you use the shadow. There is also a diagram on the back of the pallete that shows you where each area is. I would have swatched the colors, but they didn't show very well when I put them on my hand, and I didn't feel like going to get my primer or a concealer (lazy I know). When I did this look, I used Two Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer. I also used tape on the outside of my eyes so that I would have a nice crisp edge. I finished this look with some lashes that I got from Wal-Mart around Halloween. They were just for the outer corners. I used CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara. I think I had on Revlon ColorStay lipstick...I can't remember! I promise I'll do better next time! :-)

Hope you like it!

A do or don't???

Hey Dolls,

I am a professional that has to wear business casual attire and quite frankly, I am sick of wearing black pants everyday!!!! Brown and grey don't excite me either! I've been in search of different colored pants to wear instead of black, grey, brown and navy. So....one day I was perusing through Ashley Stewart, and I saw a pair of burnt orangey slacks. Hhhmmm, I thought, these definitely are not boring! So I purchased them and had them for about a month before I decided to wear them today. I paired them with a white button down and threw on my mustard scarf. When I put the outfit on, I immediately decided that I did not like the pants! The color made me want to vomit!!! LOL! But, I had woken up late, so I didn't have time to change. All morning I was lamenting over my epic fail! I sent a picture message to a couple friends (which I have also shared with you) to get their take. A couple said they weren't bad, but I'm not convinced. I think part of the problem is the way I put it together. On lunch, I went to Ashley Stewart and tried on a dark denim blazer. Once I put it on with my outfit, I decided that the orange pants are workable. I will post a pic with the blazer later. So what do you all think? Are the pants a do or a don't?

Here's a closeup so you can really see the color.

The whole fit....sorry about the ladies room pic, it's the only mirror I had!

****Update******

Okay, so here are pics of the outfit with the blazer. I like the pants with the dark denim. I think before I just had too much brightness going on!

Stay tuned, a makeup look is coming up!
